Becca Afterglow Palette Review & Swatches

Happy New Year my darlings! Can you believe that it’s already 2016… Oh my! I felt like I blinked in 2015, and it was gone. Hopefully this year will not go as quickly and that it’s going to be the best year yet!

So, I recently got my hands on the limited edition Becca Afterglow Palette, which is a collection of their five best sellers.

Becca Afterglow Palette, Becca, Afterglow, Palette, Review, Swatches, Hightlighter, Blushes, Moonstone, Rose Gold, Topax, Wild Honey, Flowerchild, Shimmering Skin Perfector, Mineral Blush, Sephora, Ulta, Adorebeauty, Makeup Review, Melbourne, Australia
This palette includes:

  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone (1.4g)
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold (1.4g)
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz (1.4g)
  • Mineral Blush in Wild Honey (1.6g)
  • Mineral Blush in Flowerchild (1.6g)

For reference, a single Shimmering Skin Perfector and Mineral Blush compact is 8g and 6g respectively.  This palette has a total net weight of 7.4g.

I got this palette for $70AUD at Sephora (Melbourne Central store), they are also available on Sephora.com.au, Adorebeauty.com.au and Beccacosmetics.com.au.

The packaging is very slick and has a mirror finish, which is beautiful however I find myself constantly wiping it as it’s a fingerprint magnet. The pan size is also very small, which isn’t a problem for the highlighters, but I’ve struggled a little with the blushes. I find that the following brushes are all too big to use; Zoeva 126 Luxe Cheek Finish brush, Real Techniques Blush brush and Sigma F40 Large Angle Contour brush. The only brush that I don’t have any issues using with these blushes is the Sephora Pro 49 Angled Blush brush. (See review of brush here)

This isn’t going to be an in-depth review as I haven’t used this palette long enough to have a detailed opinion.
However , I’ve have been using this palette the last few days and absolutely love it.
The highlighters (Moonstone and Rose Gold) are perfect for my cheekbones, providing me with a beautiful natural glow, but the shade Topaz is a bit dark for my skin tone. I use this shade on the inner corner of my eyes.
The blushes are fairly natural and give a pop of colour to my cheeks.
The highlighters and blushes are very pigmented and can be easily blended.

I find that this palette is on the pricey size, seeing as a single Shimmering Skin Perfector compact has 8g of product and is $60, where as this palette has 7.4g of product and is $70. I do like the fact that this palette contains 3 highlighters and 2 blushes, which gives me the perfect introduction to Becca products.
Overall I find this palette absolutely gorgeous and I’m glad I got it, as it’s
definitely something worth investing in.

Let me know in the comments below what you think of this palette and if you have any questions.

Until we meet again, stay beautiful.

  1. Looove your pictures in this post – the palette looks amazing. I love the look of Moonstone and I already love the Flowerchild blush! I can totally see how it could be a bit annoying to try and get a whole brush in those blushes though…
