Synopsis

Rosie and Dominic Vega are the perfect couple: high school sweethearts, best friends, madly in love. Well, they used to be anyway. Now Rosie’s lucky to get a caveman grunt from the ex-soldier every time she walks in the door. Dom is faithful and a great provider, but the man she fell in love with ten years ago is nowhere to be found. When her girlfriends encourage Rosie to demand more out of life and pursue her dream of opening a restaurant, she decides to demand more out of love, too. Three words: marriage boot camp.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book as its about second chance romance and it shows how a lack of communication over time in a marriage can deteriorate even the strongest of bonds. When you’ve been married or been together for a long time, people no longer “try” anymore or resentment forms due to the lack of communication.

Even though Rosie and Dom’s sex life was hot-as-hell, everything else was missing, and it shows that you need more than just a healthy sexual appetite to keep a marriage alive. Rosie was ready to walk away from her marriage, but Dom was not and was willing to fight for her. The commitment they showed in working on their marriage, having those tough conversations and understanding that each person has a different way of wanting to be loved was something I really enjoyed reading.

I think people that have been in a relationship for a long time would relate to some of the issues that Rosie and Dom experienced, but in saying that I think anyone regardless of their relationship status would enjoy this book, as it’s a great book overall. Oh and happens to be very hot and heavy, so if that’s your cup of tea. Side note – I liked this book much more than the 1st book in the series – Fix Her Up.
